1Berita English – National Campaign Team (TKN) of Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka speaks out regarding the insults directed at presidential candidate number 1, Anies Baswedan, during the second presidential debate of the 2024 presidential election at Istora Senayan, Jakarta (7/1).

In a video circulating on social media, the insults are believed to have been uttered by someone in the Prabowo-Gibran supporters’ area. Deputy Chairman of TKN Prabowo-Gibran, Grace Natalie, admits she cannot confirm whether the insults were made by Prabowo-Gibran supporters.

Nevertheless, she states that such behavior cannot be justified.

“Of course, this action is not justified, sir. We are checking who the perpetrator is. We are checking whether it is indeed from our team or not,” says Grace when contacted via a short message on Monday (1/8).

Meanwhile, the Secretary of the National Campaign Team (TKN) Prabowo-Gibran, Nusron Wahid, expresses doubt that the shouts came from Prabowo’s supporters.

“I don’t think it’s our supporter, sir. After checking, it seems they were sitting at the KPU guest table at the very back,” says Nusron.

On the other hand, the Spokesperson for the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar Winning Team (Timnas AMIN), Usamah Abdul Aziz, admits hearing the insults.

However, he claims he cannot confirm what insults were conveyed by the unidentified person.

“Yes, it sounded like that,” says Usamah when contacted via a short message on Monday (1/8).

“It’s still unclear whether it was ‘bastard’ or ‘talk,’ what was clear was ‘talk’,” he adds.

Meanwhile, CNNIndonesia is still trying to contact the Technical Division Chairman of KPU, Idham Holik, regarding the incident. However, as of the time of this news release, he has not responded.
