1Berita News – The United States launched airstrikes again at several areas in western Yemen controlled by Houthi militias on Wednesday night (1/31).

CBS reported that the US strikes successfully thwarted 10 Houthi drones and missiles that were about to launch.

According to CNN, the US destroyer ship in the Gulf of Aden also intercepted an anti-ship ballistic missile and several Houthi drones heading towards the area.

US military officials told CNN that the USS Carney, an Arleigh-Burke class guided-missile destroyer, successfully shot down drones and other Houthi artillery heading towards the Gulf of Aden.

This interception comes a day after a Houthi missile struck an area near a US warship in the Red Sea.

The Houthi ship missile fell just one mile from the location of the US warship. This marks the closest Houthi attack to a US warship location.

US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin condemned these various Houthi attacks, considering them as “illegal and reckless” acts.

Since Israel launched a brutal aggression against Palestine on October 7th, several militias in the Middle East, including the Houthi group, affiliated with The Islamic Resistance, have also attacked the Zionist state.

The Houthi group has repeatedly launched airstrikes threatening Israel under the pretext of defending Palestine. Since November, the Houthis have also been actively hijacking and attacking commercial ships related to Israel in the Red Sea, prompting US intervention.

The Houthis emphasize that the attacks on commercial ships are another effort to defend Palestine, which is still under brutal attack by Israel.
