1Berita – The evacuation process of victims and train carriages involved in the accident in Cicalengka, Bandung, is currently underway. The plan is to cut the train body to facilitate the evacuation process.
Head of Basarnas Bandung, Hery Marantika, mentioned that there are still two victims trapped in the train’s framework.
“For the latest, there are two victims that we are trying to rescue. The first is one victim trapped in the overturned carriage, and the second is one person trapped between carriages,” Hery explained in an interview with CNNIndonesia TV on Friday (5/1).
He stated that two techniques would be employed to evacuate the victims, namely pulling the carriages and cutting the carriages.
“We are currently trying both techniques. If the carriages cannot be pulled, we will cut them to evacuate the trapped person,” he expressed.
The collision between Turangga Train (Train number 65A) and Commuterline Bandung Raya Train (Train number 350) occurred in the Cikuya sub-district, Cicalengka, Bandung Regency, on the track Cicalengka-Haurpugur KM 181+700.
The police reported three fatalities in the incident involving the collision between KRL Commuter Line Bandung Raya and Turangga Train in Cicalengka on Friday (5/1) morning. One of the deceased victims is identified as the train engineer.
“According to the reports we received, there are three casualties, one engineer, the second is the assistant engineer, and the third is a steward,” said Director of Public Relations of West Java Regional Police, Commissioner Ibrahim Tompo, when contacted.
