1Berita – The East Java Regional Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PWNU) received flower arrangements following the removal of Marzuki Mustamar as the chairman. The entire set of flower arrangements carried a protest tone against the Nahdlatul Ulama Central Board (PBNU).
At least eight flower arrangements were placed by the sender on the northern side of the PWNU East Java courtyard or the access route to the entrance since Sunday (31/12).
Siswanto, the worker who delivered the flowers, admitted not knowing who ordered the flower arrangements. He was only tasked with delivering the ordered bouquets to the address of the PWNU East Java office.
“I don’t know who ordered them. I receive the order, deliver it, that’s it,” said Siswanto after arranging the flowers he delivered.
Siswanto mentioned that he had already sent similar flower arrangements twice. The first time, he sent four bouquets on Saturday night, December 30, 2023, but they were no longer at the location. He then received another order for eight arrangements on Sunday, December 31, 2023.
“Twice, [first delivery] four, [second delivery] eight,” he said.
Meanwhile, several writings on the flower arrangement boards expressed protests against PBNU regarding the dismissal of Kiai Marzuki.
“Expressing condolences for the death of the culture of Tabayun in NU due to the dismissal of the Chairman of PWNU East Java #savePWNUJatim,” quoted a flower arrangement claiming to be Nahdliyin Bersatu Umat Maju.
“Yahya and Ipul are the masterminds of the destruction of PBNU,” reads a flower arrangement on behalf of NU Ndeso. Then there is the inscription “Don’t let NU be in the hands of the Clown,” in a flower arrangement on behalf of NU Garis Lurus.
“Do not make NU a tool for profit,” reads the flower arrangement from Nahdliyin Cerdas Bersatu. “Expressing condolences and sorrow for the dismissal of KH! Marzuki Mustamar as Chairman of PWNU East Java due to the death of the culture of tabayun in NU. #saveKHMarzukiMustamar,” quoted a flower arrangement from the Association of NU Movement Residents.
1Berita.com has attempted to confirm with Secretary of PWNU East Java Akhad Muzakki and PBNU Chairman KH Ahmad Fahrur Rozi or Gus Fahrur. However, they have not provided a response. Observations at the location indicate that several flower arrangements have been cleared since Tuesday (2/1).
Previously, KH Marzuki Mustamar was dismissed by PBNU from his position as the Chairman of PWNU East Java. The decision for his dismissal is stated in a letter issued by PBNU with the number 274/PB.01/A.II.01.44/99/12/2023.
The decision letter was signed by the Chairman of PBNU Yahya Cholil Staquf, Secretary-General Saifullah Yusuf, Rais Aam Miftachul Akhyar, and Katib Aam Akhmad Said Asrori.
