1Berita News – PT Pelni (Persero) revealed that there was no significant increase in the number of passengers during the long holiday period of Isra Mi’raj and the Chinese New Year holiday, from Wednesday (7/2) to Sunday (11/2).
Ditto Pappilanda, Pelni’s Internal and External Communications Manager, stated that this was because the holiday period did not drive passenger mobility for sea travel.
“There was no significant increase because the Isra Mi’raj and Chinese New Year holidays did not drive passenger mobility for sea travel,” he said when contacted by CNNIndonesia on Wednesday (7/2).
However, he mentioned that there were still some favorite routes during the holiday period, including Belawan-Batam round trip, Makassar-Baubau round trip, Manokwari-Jayapura, Sorong-Ambon, Parepare-Balikpapan, and Ambon-Banda.
Ditto also explained that there were no significant changes in the movement of people during that period.
He observed that people’s mobility tends to be higher during peak holiday seasons such as Eid al-Fitr or the Christmas and New Year holidays (Nataru).
“There is no significant change in people’s movement because significant mobility tends to occur during the peak seasons of Eid al-Fitr and Nataru,” he said.
