1Berita – Unknown assailants (OTK) suspected of using a .22 caliber firearm or pistol shot Muarah (49), a Prabowo–Gibran volunteer in Sampang, Madura, East Java.
East Java Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Imam Sugianto, stated that the firearm used by the perpetrator has been identified after the officers conducted a crime scene investigation (TKP) and received clues.
“Meanwhile, the analysis from Bidlabfor East Java Police indicates that the firearm used is a .22 caliber, possibly a type of revolver or similar pistol. It could be an assembly, and there are also .22 caliber pistols,” Imam told the media at the East Java Police Headquarters on Saturday (30/12).
However, according to Imam, the officers only found bullet casings at the crime scene, with no bullet shells present. This discovery was then used as a clue to determine the firearm and the distance from which the shooter carried out the attack.
“But no casings were found at the crime scene, only the bullet casings,” he said.
Earlier, Imam mentioned that 13 witnesses have been questioned to uncover the Muarah shooting case. They include family members, residents, and individuals around the incident location.
“All 13 people who were with the victim that day, including family members and those involved in those activities,” he said.
Imam continued that based on digital analysis sent to National Police Headquarters (Mabes Polri), the police have found clues about the perpetrator of the shooting. These clues, according to Imam, are currently being developed by the Criminal Investigation Unit and its related units.
“Alhamdulillah (praise be to God) based on the IT analysis that we have sent to National Police Headquarters, there are also clues. Currently, it is being developed by the Criminal Investigation Unit and its related units,” he said.
Imam hopes that they can apprehend the perpetrator of Muarah’s shooting soon. He targets that the unknown assailant will be arrested in early 2024.
“Hopefully, in the near future, it can be revealed properly, then in early January [2024], hopefully, the suspect can be identified,” he concluded.
Muarah (49), a volunteer for Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka in Banyuates District, Sampang, Madura, became the victim of an unknown assailant (OTK) shooting.
The incident occurred while Muarah was chatting and having coffee with a friend in front of a store at 09:30 AM on Friday (22/12). Suddenly, two individuals on a Yamaha Nmax motorcycle, robust in stature with face coverings and helmets, approached Muarah.
They stopped and approached Muarah, then immediately fired two shots towards the 49-year-old man. After the shooting, the two individuals fled. Meanwhile, Muarah was taken to the nearest hospital before being referred to RSUD dr Soetomo in Surabaya.
