1Berita News – Presidential Candidate Number 2, Prabowo Subianto, lauds the leadership of Democratic Party Chairman Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) during his tenure as the 6th President of Indonesia.
Prabowo expressed his praise during a grand campaign event with the Democratic Party at Gajayana Stadium, Malang, East Java, on Thursday (1/2).
“Mr. SBY is the finest son of Indonesia, every step he takes is always giving his best,” said Prabowo.
He mentioned that at the beginning of his presidency, SBY faced the tsunami disaster in Aceh. According to him, SBY successfully handled the aftermath of the tsunami.
Prabowo also touched on the conflict in Aceh that was resolved during SBY’s leadership.
“He resolved a conflict that had been unresolved for over a decade. He resolved it; he should have been a Nobel Prize recipient. He is a general who fought for peace,” he said.
Additionally, he referred to SBY’s leadership during the global economic crisis in 2008.
Prabowo admitted to feeling confident because he was supported by the Democratic Party in the 2024 Presidential Election.
“In 2008, the economic crisis, he faced it calmly. With him, with the Democratic Party, with AHY [Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono] together with me, I feel very confident,” he said.
In the same event, SBY regarded Prabowo as the finest son of the nation who is ready to lead Indonesia.
“Does Malang’s community want prosperity? Let me ask again, does Indonesia want progress? Does Indonesia want its people to be more prosperous?” SBY asked.
SBY stated that if the community wants progress and prosperity, there is one finest son who can lead Indonesia to achieve that.
He then asked the audience who the finest son of the nation referred to. The audience present shouted Prabowo’s name.
“The finest son of the nation is here with us, who we truly believe is ready and capable of leading all of us for the next five years,” said SBY.
“Yes, Mr. Prabowo Subianto, my friend,” he added.
