1Berita – PDIP (Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle) has spoken up following a number of cadres from the United Development Party (PPP) shifting allegiance by supporting the presidential and vice-presidential candidate pair number 2, Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
PDIP politician Aria Bima revealed that they leave the decision on this matter to PPP. According to him, the maneuvers of several officials fall within the internal affairs of the party symbolized by the Kaaba.
“We defer to PPP to resolve this issue because it falls within the discipline of the organizations within each supporting party,” said Aria while accompanying Ganjar Pranowo’s political tour in Solo, Central Java, on Friday (29/12).
As a member of the VI Commission of the Indonesian Parliament (DPR), he considered the difference in the direction of support among some cadres, not in line with the party’s decision, as a common occurrence. He provided another example, citing several Golkar cadres in East Nusa Tenggara supporting Ganjar-Mahfud.
Several PPP cadres, through an organization called “Pejuang PPP,” declared their support for Prabowo-Gibran. The declaration of support took place at the Ambhara Hotel, South Jakarta, on Thursday (28/12).
However, PPP is currently part of the coalition supporting the pair Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud MD. PPP is noted to be in a coalition with PDIP, Perindo, and Hanura.
Among the names of cadres present at the declaration event were the Deputy Secretary of the PPP DPP Advisory Council, Hizbiyah Rochim, as well as several cadres such as Witjaksono to Raden Agung Zainal Abidin.
The Deputy Chair of the PPP Advisory Council and initiator of Pejuang PPP, Witjaksono, admitted he was ready to face sanctions from his party regarding this support. He claimed that his stance supporting Prabowo represented the aspirations of PPP cadres below.
“We are indeed consolidating, so we have received many aspirations from below. So, because there are many aspirations from below, we consolidate, and finally, this event happens,” he said.
PPP Secretary-General Arwani Thomafi then stated that the party would promptly take strict action against the declaration. However, he has not explained the steps the party will take against cadres supporting Prabowo-Gibran.
