1Berita News – Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh has announced his resignation along with his government. The resignation has been submitted to President Mahmoud Abbas. This decision comes amidst ongoing violence in Gaza and escalating tensions in the West Bank and Jerusalem.

Shtayyeh highlighted the unprecedented escalation in the region, including conflict, genocide, and famine in Gaza. He emphasized the need for new governance and political arrangements considering the current realities in Gaza and the importance of Palestinian unity and authority over Palestinian territories.

There has been no response from the Palestinian President’s office in Ramallah regarding Shtayyeh’s announcement.

The announcement coincides with increasing pressure from the United States on President Abbas to destabilize the Palestinian Authority and establish new political structures for governing Palestine post-conflict.
