Central Japan Hit by Magnitude 7.4 Earthquake on Monday (1/1) local time.
Japan’s Meteorological and Geophysical Agency issued a tsunami warning of up to five meters, as quoted by AFP.
The tsunami warning was issued along the west coast of Ishikawa, Niigata, and Toyama prefectures, as reported by Reuters.
A five-meter tsunami is predicted to hit the Noto coast in Ishikawa Prefecture.
Japan’s NHK news agency reported that a one-meter sea wave has swept along the coast of Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture.
So far, there have been no reports of damage or casualties from the 7.4 magnitude earthquake that shook central Japan.
