1Berita News – In a recent development, Israel’s military has alleged that Hamas deployed a significant arsenal of Chinese-made weapons in its conflict against the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) along the Gaza Strip in December of last year.
Responding to Israel’s assertions stemming from its investigation, Beijing has issued a rebuttal.
China’s Ministry of Defense Spokesperson, Wu Qian, refuted Israel’s claims suggesting that Beijing supplied weapons to Hamas.
“China consistently exercises caution and responsibility in the export of weapons,” stated Wu Qian, as quoted by Reuters.
Addressing questions from journalists during a monthly press briefing in Beijing, Wu Qian tackled reports of an abundance of Chinese-manufactured weapons.
Earlier, Israel’s Channel 12, as reported by the Times of Israel on December 30, 2023, disclosed that IDF troops uncovered a substantial cache of Chinese-produced weaponry used by Hamas in Gaza.
According to a source from the Times of Israel who preferred anonymity, Tel Aviv’s political leadership was shown examples of Chinese weapons discovered in Gaza.
The television report further highlighted that the transportation of these weapons via Chinese vessels was unsuspected.
Israel suspects that this was not merely a small-scale smuggling operation but a meticulously planned and large-scale shipment, given the sheer quantity involved.
