1Berita – Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir officially merges Angkasa Pura I and Angkasa Pura II into PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia, also known as InJourney Airports.
“Alhamdulillah [Praise be to God], the lengthy process has finally come to an end. Our efforts to strengthen airport management have been realized,” said Erick in an official statement on Thursday (28/12).
Erick stated that InJourney Airports and PT Integrasi Aviasi Solusi (InJourney Aviation Services or IAS) as the sub-holding of InJourney Group represent a significant breakthrough in the aviation and airport industry sector. He emphasized that this move is an adaptive response of state-owned enterprises to the changing times.
“With this transformation, we hope airport management can be more integrated and efficient,” added Erick.
He mentioned that the merger of Angkasa Pura I and II should improve service quality with standardized operational systems and policies. According to him, airport management is crucial to optimizing the potential of Indonesia’s economic, tourism, and logistics sectors.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of BUMN Kartika Wirjoatmodjo stated that Faik Fahmi, the former CEO of PT Angkasa Pura I, will lead PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia.
Tiko, as he is affectionately called, explained that the formation of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia is the initial stage of merging AP I and II.
“This is just the beginning stage,” he said.
Erick is currently working to restructure BUMN Karya within 2-3 years. The Ministry of BUMN has successfully merged PT Pelindo from four entities into one.
“I have repeatedly mentioned that the process of restructuring BUMN Karya takes 2-3 years with different options for each,” he said at the Ministry of BUMN in Jakarta on Tuesday (19/12).
