1Berita News – British Ambassador to Indonesia, ASEAN, and East Timor, Dominic Jermey, paid a visit to Prabowo Subianto’s residence on Friday (16/2).
During the meeting, Jermey conveyed a congratulatory letter from British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Prabowo’s success in both the quick count results and the official count by the General Election Commission (KPU).
Through his official social media platform X, Jermey expressed his gratitude for Prabowo’s hospitality. The meeting served as an opportunity to discuss the bilateral relationship between the two countries.
“Thank you, Mr. Prabowo, for your hospitality yesterday. It was a pleasure discussing everything ahead and the great things our countries can achieve together,” wrote Jermey on social media platform X.
Jermey also uploaded photos from the friendly meeting. There were four photos uploaded, one of which showed Jermey standing while Prabowo was seated in a green chair.
Prabowo has received congratulations from several heads of state for his success in the quick count results. The majority of survey institutions reported Prabowo leading with over 56 percent of the votes.
As for the official count by the KPU until Saturday (17/2) noon, precisely at 12:00 WIB, Prabowo leads with 57.5 percent compared to the other two presidential candidate pairs.
This lead is based on 64.80 percent of the votes counted. If this trend continues with the same percentage, Prabowo will win in a single round.
So far, congratulations to Prabowo have come from Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
