1Berita – Bali Regional Police urges residents and tourists on the Island of the Gods not to use or ignite Firecrackers during the New Year’s Eve celebrations.
“This appeal applies to all segments of society, including tourists who are vacationing in Bali,” said Bali Police Public Relations Chief, Commissioner Pol Jansen Panjaitan, in his written statement on Friday night (29/12).
He added, “Certainly, there is a reason behind this appeal, which is to maintain the security situation in Bali to be safe and conducive.”
He also mentioned that this appeal is based on Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 and Article 187 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) regarding the use of explosives.
In addition, the misuse of Firecrackers has often resulted in casualties, such as incidents of explosions and fires in warehouses, residential houses, villas, and other places, causing material damage and even lifelong disabilities or fatalities.
“This appeal is of utmost importance to us in maintaining the security situation in Bali to remain conducive as we approach the democratic celebration of the 2024 elections,” he said.
