    Jokowi Aims to Prioritize Fresh Graduates as Civil Servants in Nusantara IKN

    1BeritaPresident Joko Widodo (Jokowi) plans to recruit fresh graduates to become civil servants (ASN) stationed in the National Capital (IKN) Nusantara.

    Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Azwar Anas stated that the recruitment would take place in 2024, with Jokowi aiming to prioritize fresh graduates for positions in the IKN.

    “He [Jokowi] wants outstanding fresh graduates, and among them, some will be given ample opportunities in the IKN,” said Anas after meeting Jokowi at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Friday (29/12).

    Anas declined to disclose the number of available ASN positions for fresh graduates, mentioning that Jokowi would announce it in the first week of January 2024.

    However, he revealed the criteria for ASN vacancies in the IKN for fresh graduates. Anas mentioned that the government would seek individuals skilled in technology.

    “One of the focuses is on digital talents because we need many digital talents in various sectors,” said Anas. “More on the upstream side, for example, digital applications in the agricultural sector.”

    The government plans to relocate government offices to the IKN starting in early 2024, marking the first phase of the IKN’s development.

    The government has stated that around 16,990 civil servants, military personnel, and police officers will move to the IKN in 2024. For the initial phase, approximately 1,200 to 3,200 civil servants will be relocated to the IKN.
